Clinical depression is defined as a state of sadness
and melancholia which has been extended beyond
two weeks or more. In case the feelings of despair
or sadness are affecting your general functioning
and disruptive to your life, then you might be
suffering from clinical depression. With depression
most of the people experience low energy levels
or feeling of grief. Depression can actually have
significant consequence on your life, work, health,
and people whose life are affected by you.

depression goes beyond temporary state of sadness.

These short periods of depression usually does
not affect your functioning as such. However,
some form of treatment is necessary because this
can lead to being more depressed and being physically
unwell.
