Physical Causes:
Some of the top Physical causes of impotence are diabetes, disease of nervous system, medication, addictions, vascular disease.
- Vascular Disease leads to hardening of the arteries and extend their effects to the arteries leading to penis. This disables the ability of the penis to dilate and not get enough blood necessary for erection.
- Diabetes has recently been diagnosed as major physical cause of impotency. Diabetes can cause nerve deterioration of the nerves which control the blood flow to penis. Taking adequate steps to keeping blood sugar in control can reduce chances of impotence.
However, it is important to ensure that there is no permanent damage to the nerves or it will turn into a chronic problem.
- Some Medications can have the effect with blood flow and nerve impulse leading to temporary impotence. Your doctor will help in overcome this by adjusting dosage or a complete change of drug.
- Addictions like smoking and alcoholism can disrupt hormone balance and damage nerves. Such an impotency can be temporary or permanent depending on the nerve damage.
- Disease of the Nervous System. Some conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and spinal cord injuries, can affect or cause impotence.
- Cancer Surgery. Surgery to remove cancer from the prostate, bladder, colon or rectal area can cause impotence if the nerves and blood vessels that control erections are damaged in the process of removing cancerous tissue.
- Hormone Imbalance resulting from illness of the like of kidney failure or liver disease can cause impotence.
