BABY SLEEP BASICS

New Parents

Understanding the needs of your baby

If your baby is sleeping properly then it means she is fit. Mothers have to be very careful while putting her baby to sleep. With time and patience you will be able to learn your babies sleep patterns and what to do to ensure that your baby gets complete sleep. Being a mother you have to take care of what your baby needs while sleeping. Also you will have to take into account, the weather and accordingly you have to make arrangements.

Your Baby And You

According to doctors, mothers should avoid using blanket as it is overly constricted and over bundled. If you see that your baby is sleeping comfortably in sleepwear then it is better not to use blanket. Sometimes, due to cold weather it becomes compulsory to use blanket then you should take thin fabric and cover your baby with it only up to chest.

Knowing your baby and his or her sleeping ways will make it easy for you to handle them. The first thing to ensure before your baby goes to sleep is whether your baby is fed properly. Then see if they are wearing something loose and fewer strings clothes.

With time, you will be able to fix a particular nap time for your baby to sleep. Babies also get tired easily, so sleep, at regular intervals, is important for them. Go through your check list of nappy change, feeding and cloth changing before it is time for your baby to sleep. A small pre-bed feeding can make your baby sleep uninterrupted. Mothers can also create relaxing atmosphere before the baby goes to sleep. One of the important baby sleep basics is to make your bay feel safe and secure so that she can sleep well. Put your baby softly in the crib and check that the blanket is warm.

Don’t leave the baby alone in the room as soon as you have put him to sleep. Only when you know they are in deep sleep leave them alone. Also check on them from time to time if they have woken up. If they wake up in the middle of the night then comfort them and check them before putting them again to sleep. A good sleep will help you raise an energetic and happy baby!
