If you just shed those extra pounds you are likely to be a lot healthier. Studies have shown that weight loss helps in conditions like diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Your goal should not be being a size 4 but being healthy. You will feel much better and greatly improve the quality of your life.  

It’s genetic also:

One is naturally predisposed to have obesity if they have relatives who are obese.  Biological relatives resemble each other in many ways, including the tendency to put on weight! For them it is very important to take measures and put in the extra effort to maintain a healthy weight.

It’s just about being food smart:

When fighting obesity you would want to know what to eat! Make smart food choices! Choose fruits, vegetable, give up heavy salad dressing like cheese for peas and beans. When doing grocery shopping pick up healthy substitutes, read the calories before your put the food product in your basket! Be smart shopper when it comes to food!

It’s not about joining a gym:

Weight loss doesn’t mean that you have to join a gym. There are so many ways to start losing that flab! Dance, jog, walk or join any activity that you enjoy. When dealing with obesity, it’s important to form an exercise routine that you can follow regularly. Call on a buddy to help you keep the momentum going! If you are on medication then make sure to consult your doctor before starting an exercise program.

Studies and research have shown that both obesity and depression frequently exist together. Overeating is one of the common symptoms of depression. Many people tend to overeat when they are depressed. In fact more and more people are now becoming compulsive eater and put on those extra pounds. And once you are depressed it becomes all the more difficult to lose weight!

It’s not about dieting:

Dieting is simply not the solution for obesity! Dieting or skipping meals slows metabolism. This gives the body the direction to conserve calories when limited food is available. To increase metabolism you need to eat!  

It’s about making a lifestyle change:

Obesity is not just about losing weight it’s about changing your lifestyle and your entire attitude towards life. It’s about making smart choices on every day basis. What you eat, how to make your life more active, how to stay motivated. You can become a role model for your family, friends and children by making a lifestyle change! Healthy lifestyle will mean a more fulfilling living without that extra fat packed on your sides!
